We have two days for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday. On Giving Tuesday, we have a day for giving back.

Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, Giving Tuesday falls on November 28.

Giving Tuesday is the opening day of the giving season: a reminder of the “reason for the season."

You can give by donating. Donate today or schedule your donation ahead of time for Colorado Gives Day.

You can give by volunteering. Our historic landmark tours are entirely led by volunteers. Join our docents at the Avery House or the 1883 Water Works to help lead tours of your own! Or, join us for special events throughout the year to help educate our community about the importance of local history. 

You can give with advocacy. Have experience with history, politics, or advocacy? Help us ensure historic Colorado museums continue for future generations. 

You can give with acts of kindness. This one is up to your imagination! Read the list of 50 random act of kindness ideas to get inspired.

 

This Giving Tuesday, Poudre Landmarks Foundation asks you: why does local history matter to you?

Maybe it's because you remember touring the Avery House as a child, or maybe your grandchildren told you all about seeing Edgar Avery's toys from 1890 on their field trip. 

Maybe you stopped by the 1883 Water Works on a bike ride near Lory State Park during an open house, and you enjoyed learning about local history. 

If local history matters to you, consider participating in Giving Tuesday this year to help us continue our mission to preserve, restore, protect, and interpret the history of Fort Collins.
