An Old-Fashioned Independence Day
at the 1879 Avery House

Celebrate an old-fashioned Independence Day at the 1879 Avery House from 10am to 1pm at 328 W. Mountain Ave. Lawn games are free for all ages. Tours of the Avery House are available for $5 per guest, with the day's final tour beginning at 1pm.

This community event coincides with the City of Fort Collins Independence Day parade which steps off at 10am right in front of the Avery House. The parade marches west on Mountain Avenue to City Park. Following your parade viewing, walk to the Avery House lawn and continue the July 4th festivities.

Come out to play old-fashioned games such as croquet and bean bag toss. Make crafts and purchase Fort Collins history-related gifts and souvenirs. Enjoy a special performance by the Fort Collins Symphony Brass Quintet.

The community is also invited to tour the interior of the historic Avery House––including the special exhibit, Colorado or Bust!––for a reduced admission of $5 per guest. Don’t miss out, our final tour of the day begins at 1pm.

Old-Fashioned Independence at the Avery House is produced in cooperation with the City of Fort Collins Fort Fund.
