Old-Fashioned Fourth of July at the 1879 Avery House

Poudre Landmarks Foundation is proud to offer a July 4th celebration to the community each year. The event is held on the Avery House lawn at 328 West Mountain Avenue in Fort Collins and coincides with the City of Fort Collins July 4th Parade that runs east on Mountain Avenue from Jackson Avenue, finishing at Meldrum Street in front of the Avery House. Celebrants can take in the parade and then come to the Avery House to continue the festivities with live music, Victorian games and crafts, and more, from 10:00 to 2:00.

In 2017, the Bluegrass Patriots will again perform at the event. Food trucks Mac'N, The Rollin' Stone Wood Fired Pizzeria, and Trattoria Oreganata will be onsite selling delicious summertime fare. While enjoying the music and food, play old-fashioned games such as croquet and bean bag toss; make kids' crafts; dress up in Victorian clothes from "Grandma's Attic"; purchase lemonade, popcorn, and July 4th trinkets at old-fashioned prices; tour the Avery House, and more. Check out the photo gallery of past July 4th events, and mark your calendar to come to this year's Old-Fashioned Fourth of July at the 1879 Avery House!

The Old-Fashioned Fourth of July at the 1879 Avery House is produced in cooperation with the City of Fort Collins Parks Department, Ranch-Way Feeds, and the Coloradoan. The event is sponsored in part by City of Fort Collins Fort Fund and OtterCares Foundation.
