By Hand and Heart: A Collection of Women’s Needlework Skills from the Past
From the Collection of Karol Henderson Harding and the Avery House
Open now through mid-April
Historically, women have spent hours creating beautiful and useful items to be used by family and friends. Examples of their work may even survive in your own home in the form of crochet doilies, embroidered tablecloths, and quilts. Wonderful samples of these items are now on display at the Avery House through mid-April. Enjoy beautiful Shetland shawls, Battenburg lace, Victorian-era Irish crochet, redwork embroidery, and more by visiting the Avery House during its normal hours of 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, Saturdays and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sundays.
